Discovery in the foothills.....

Yesterday we loaded the Golden's in the Jeep and headed for a suburb of Colorado Springs we hadn't traveled to in the nearly two years we've lived here.....Cheyenne Canon Park. It's on the southeast end of town in the foothills....Wow! What great views just outside the city! It ranks as one of the most scenic drives in Colorado and we didn't even know it was there. Big outcroppings of breathtaking red rocks, waterfalls, streams, bicyclers, hikers, dogs and sightseers like us. Surprisingly it wasn't crowded at all. Another gem here in the home of the Rockies.

When we reached some of the highest points of our journey (best done with a high clearance SUV) we were treated to an arial view of Colorado Springs that was out of this world.

To get there you can take Hwy 24 from I 25 to the west until you reach 21st St. - go left until you reach Lower Gold Camp Rd......go left and you will soon be in the heights overlooking the city. From there you can stay on Gold Camp Rd until you are totally lost or reach the other end of the journey which is West Cheyenne Blvd.
Lots of places to stop along the way. Enjoy!
